2. What is the role of the EMS Unit?

The EMS Unit works on behalf of the postal-administration members of the EMS Cooperative and is part of the International Bureau of the UPU in Berne, Switzerland.

The EMS Unit provides a global focus to allow the worldwide EMS network to better meet the needs of postal customers by providing a number of services to support EMS operators.

Please note that the EMS Unit is an administrative body working for postal operators and does not deal with individual customer inquiries.

 4. I have just sent an item using EMS, how do I find out where my item is?

Please contact the postal operator that sent your EMS item, or the EMS operator in the destination country, if you want to locate your EMS item.

The EMS Unit works on behalf of postal administrations and is therefore unable to answer customer EMS tracking inquiries.

Individual EMS operators in each country manage the postal tracking information and their Customer Service departments can answer general EMS queries or help you locate your EMS item
(click here for a list of EMS Cooperative members' weblinks).

5. Why haven't I heard of EMS in my own country?

Sometimes postal operators do not use “EMS” in their name and brand their EMS delivery service using a different name e.g. Speedpost or International Express Post. Despite this, if they are a member of the EMS Cooperative, they will be following the same high standards and procedures of all other EMS Cooperative members. The full range of EMS Cooperative operator names can be found on the EMS Cooperative members' page.
